JavaScript Job: Junior Web Developer

For candidates that have a keen interest in programming and excellent arithmetic, problem-solving, and communication abilities, Lawyer.com is hiring Junior Full Stack Developers. We are looking for candidates who are quick learners and can explain their work to the business team in a way that promotes understanding between teams. The developers will work initially on our VOIP WebRTC softphone platform, built with Twilio, Pusher, Browser Extensions and advanced front-end and back-end code. Developers are also responsible to make sure code meets professional standards and perform rigorous testing using cross-browser testing tools, and common test cases. We are aiming to quickly extend these platforms in response to significant customer demand and there are many opportunities for developers who exhibit a strong combination of technical and communication abilities to become experienced Full Stack Developers and Development Leads.

Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP knowledge will be expected of the Junior Full Stack Developer and extensive mentoring will be provided. Git, Google App Engine, Amazon Web Services, Pusher API, Twilio, and Sendgrid are among the tools and third-party services that the developer will employ. The developer will help with the creation of client-side HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code and may also work on mobile apps and browser extensions. Additionally, the developer will use Photoshop, Google Webmaster Tools, and Google Analytics to conduct best-of-breed solution research and take part in the product development process.
H1B and OPT visa holders are welcome and we pay for visa transfers, extensions and green card applications.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements

• Exhibited distinction in coursework, exams, and competitions.
• Comfortable with PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML.
• Understanding of relational databases preferably MySQL.
• Understanding of API functionality.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• A strong sense of ownership, personal accountability and
• Enjoys a fast moving entrepreneurial start-up environment.
• Will take ownership of their code and provide after-hours support if required.
• Work 3 days a week in the Basking Ridge office with flexible hours and two days remote.
• Positive, fun, inclusive personality.
• Team player, fast learner, and potential to manage and mentor junior developers.
• Interest in business strategy and product management.
• U.S. citizen or work permit.

Optional Qualifications

• 2+ years of full time coding experience
• Masters degree or computer science major
• Personal website and mobile app
• Understanding of Progressive Web App architecture
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO concepts.
• Experience using the Twilio API, Pusher, Firebase, WebRTC, Vue.js
• Internship or other experience at leading online businesses.
